The Crisis of Inner Faith…

In a world that is full of flux
Where change is the only thing constant
Man has to find his destiny
Despite the high odds of missing it often…

Whether he likes it or not
One day or other he has to resign
To accept the reality of the changing world
And look for peace and happiness within…

However long it may take
For him to acknowledge the truth
That the only thing he can change
To stop the flux in his mind
Is nothing but his own attitude
And his own outlook to the changing world

From the dawn of the civilization
Great men and women consistently
Found and vouchsafed the truth
That the only thing to be conquered
To attain eternal peace and happiness
Is just within us and nowhere else…

Live Like the Lotus…

Photo by Cristiane Teston on Unsplash

Lotus, the beautiful flower
Is born in mud and slime
At the bottom of the pond
But it grows straight up
Holding its head high above water
Looking at the bright sun
It refuses to get wet
Although it sustains on water

The frogs and fishes in the water
The snails and leeches in the slime
Which spend all their time in gobbling
With no other purpose in their lives
Never understand the beauty of the Lotus

But the Lotus is not concerned
Because it knows well
That the moment it blossoms
It can attract far better beings
Which flock to it from far of regions
The hardworking bees
Collecting nectar to make honey
That keeps humans healthy
And the colorful butterflies
Which pollinate the flowering plants
While they sip tiny droplets of nectar
And thus help the nature to nurture

Bees and butterflies both show
Higher purpose in their lives
They know the beauty of the Lotus
And enjoy its sweet nectar
While serving the nature and humanity

We have to live like the Lotus
In this world, during our lives
Without getting entangled
But rising above the mundane
And paying no attention
To those mundane people
Who can never understand our values
But longing for those noble ones
That can appreciate our ideals and values

Nothing can stop us emulating the Lotus
And living high above the mundane world
It is our will that can make us a Lotus

Welcome to Dr. BK’s Poetry

Dear Friends and Well-wishers,

Over the years, thanks to your encouragement, I have composed several poetic compositions (Kavithalu) on various themes in English and Telugu. They were published in online or print magazines or posted in social media. In other words, they are scattered and are difficult to keep track, even for me. It is time to put them all in one place so that they will be available to all those who are interested to read. Furthermore, one can follow my poetry or comment on them. I can also edit them time to time. Here, you will find my poetic compositions in English. For my poetic compositions in Telugu, please visit the Facebook page Utah Kavithalu at https://www.facebook.com/Utah-Kavithalu-108520364814502/?ref=page_internal

Thank you all for being so supportive and encouraging

Best Wishes – Bellamkonda K. Kishore

If you live in Utah…

Where the sky merges with earth
Where horizon is just an imaginary line
Where birds play musical notes
Where deer can beat drums
Where graciously flowing water sings
Where snowflakes respond to songs
Where trees move with rhythm
Where the Moon listens to the earth
Where Sun shines naked without barriers
Where owls look for life in the dark
Where wolves howl with joy
Where grizzlies hibernate uninterruptedly
Where the nature is at its zenith
There you can listen to…
The sacred flute of Native Americans
